On Point klimaVest

klimaVest is the real value fund for renewable energy assets of Commerz Real³, a subsidiary of the Commerzbank Group. In 2020, klimaVest gave private investors across Europe the opportunity to invest in sustainable tangible assets such as renewable energies for the first time and thus combine impact and return in one investment.

As a so-called ELTIF (European Long-Term Investment Fund), investors invest directly in the European real economy with klimaVest and promote the expansion of sustainable tangible assets in the field of renewable energies. The fund is subject to strict EU regulations, both in terms of sustainability and investor protection.

In addition, as a sustainable impact fund, klimaVest aims to achieve an environmentally friendly, ecological and social impact. To this end, the fund is based on specific sustainability principles, which are committed to reducing CO 2 emissions, among other things.

To calculate the avoided CO2 emissions, klimaVest uses internationally established standards such as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).² The emissions saved are the result of the amount of sustainably produced and fed into the grid as well as the calculated avoidance factor.
